Support Water Project in Kenya
Kenya has a population of about 46 million and is located in East Africa. The capital and largest city, Nairobi, is home to Kibera, one of the world's largest slums. Many of the 42 tribes in Kenya have been in conflict for ages primarily due to inadequate resources such as water.
On March 4, 2013, over 80 percent of registered voters in Kenya peacefully turned out in large numbers to vote in a free and fair election.
Water is life in Kenya! To mitigate the conflict between Kikuyu's and Masai tribes over water, our East Africa Peace Worldwide Chapter in Kenya has decided to bore a water well in a local school, which is shared by both communities. The water well will serve over 88,000 people, mostly women and children.
The capital cost for the project is $ 7,500. and 3-year maintenance will be $1,500, which adds up to $9,000. Chapter-members have already raised $5,500. Some sold their cattle and farm produce to raise the money. Now, they need your help on the balance of $ 3,500.
For this project, $1 provides safe water to over 9 persons. Your support is crucial!
